Offshift defines "PriFi" as Private Decentralized Finance. The project enables users to convert public Ethereum assets into private synthetic versions called zkAssets, such as zkBTC, zkETH, or zkUSD. Unlike other privacy protocols that rely on Layer 2 solutions or separate blockchains, Offshift operates directly on Ethereum Layer 1, providing a native privacy layer for decentralized finance.
The Burn-and-Mint mechanism is the core of XFT's tokenomics. To obtain private assets, users burn the public utility token (XFT) to mint an equal value of a private synthetic (zkAsset). Conversely, burning a zkAsset mints XFT back into a public wallet. Because tokens are created or destroyed based on demand for privacy, XFT has an elastic supply with no fixed maximum.
Following a major migration in early 2023, the current ERC-20 contract address for XFT is 0x76BC677d444f1E9d57dAf5187ee2b7dC852745aE. There is currently no deadline to swap old XFT for the new version. Users can continue to use the official Offshift dashboard to upgrade their legacy tokens to the current protocol version.

Offshift Momiji is the v2 mainnet protocol that launched in mid-2024, introducing the confidential native token zkXFT. XFT is available for trading on major exchange platforms, including LBank.
