Altered State Machine (ASM) is a decentralized protocol designed for Non-Fungible Intelligence (NFI). It allows AI to be tokenized, enabling individuals to own, train, and trade AI "Brains" as NFTs rather than having them controlled by centralized tech companies. These Brains are capable of operating across various metaverses and gaming environments, providing a foundation for user-owned artificial intelligence in the Web3 space.

An ASM AI agent is composed of three distinct components. The Brain is the core NFT containing the "Genome Matrix," which determines the agent's base stats. The Form is the physical or visual representation of the agent, such as a FLUF or other 3D avatars. The Memory is a separate NFT layer that stores the "experience" the Brain has acquired through machine learning in specialized training environments known as Gyms.

ASTO is the native utility token used for ecosystem governance via the ElderDAO, training AI agents in Gyms, minting new agents, and performing in-game transactions. ASTO-Energy is a non-transferable "proof of participation" resource used for events like Genome Mining. It is not a tradable cryptocurrency; rather, it is generated by staking ASTO tokens in the ASM Cortex to unlock protocol-specific utilities.

Genesis Brains are the original 10,000 units and serve as the "ancestors" of the ecosystem, often providing higher utility or airdrop eligibility. Gen II Brains are created through "Genome Mining," a process where users spend ASTO-Energy during specific cycles or events like "Voidpools." This system allows the protocol to expand its AI population while rewarding active participants who stake their tokens.

ASM is a foundational pillar of Futureverse, an integrated ecosystem of multiple Web3 companies. ASM Brains contribute to a user's FutureScore, which acts as a loyalty and ranking system across the entire network. To enhance scalability and reduce transaction costs, the protocol is migrating assets from Ethereum to The Root Network, a custom blockchain designed specifically for Futureverse's metaverse applications.

ASTO can be acquired through major cryptocurrency exchanges such as LBank. For managing assets, users utilize the ASM Cortex, a central dashboard where they can view their Brains, stake tokens to generate ASTO-Energy, and participate in mining events. For technical setup, users add the ASTO contract address to their digital wallets to track their holdings on the Ethereum network or The Root Network.
