Originally an ERC-20 token, it has evolved significantly to become the native gas token for X Layer, the platform’s high-performance Ethereum Layer 2 network, underscoring its dual role in both user perks and technical infrastructure.

This event permanently fixed the total supply at 21 million OKB. This substantial reduction in circulating supply aimed to position OKB as one of the most scarce utility tokens in the market, contributing to its long-term value proposition.
Holding OKB in your account on the platform grants you access to significant trading fee discounts, potentially up to 40%. The mechanism is straightforward: the more OKB tokens you hold, the higher your VIP level becomes on the platform. X Layer, previously known as OKB Chain, is an advanced EVM-compatible ZK-Rollup, functioning as a high-performance Layer 2 network built on Ethereum.
