The $ZERO token serves as the cornerstone of the ZeroLend protocol, providing multiple utilities. It is used for governance, allowing holders to vote on protocol changes, risk parameters, and future integrations. Users can also stake $ZERO to earn a share of protocol fees and potential partner airdrops. Additionally, the token offers fee discounts within the ecosystem and acts as an incentive for liquidity providers and active borrowers to ensure a robust lending environment.

The total supply of $ZERO is 100 billion tokens. The allocation is designed to balance community growth and protocol development: 35% is allocated to the Private Sale, 18% to the Community Airdrop, 20% to Emissions, 10% to Liquidity, 7% to Advisors, 5% to the Team, and 5% to the Treasury. This distribution model supports the protocol's long-term sustainability and decentralized nature.

To prevent immediate sell pressure and encourage long-term participation, ZeroLend implemented a multi-stage vesting schedule for its airdrop. 40% of the tokens were unlocked upfront at the Token Generation Event (TGE). The remaining 60% follows a 6-month cliff, followed by a 3-month linear vesting period. This structured release ensures that community members remain aligned with the protocol's growth over time.

ZeroLend One introduces several cutting-edge features including permissionless lending pools, which allow anyone to create a pool for any asset. It also features an Automated Risk Manager (ARM) that uses algorithmic tools to manage risk across isolated pools. Furthermore, lending and borrowing positions are represented as NFTs, making them tradable on secondary markets. The protocol also supports account abstraction and fixed-rate lending for enhanced user predictability.

ZeroLend prioritizes security through extensive audits by leading firms such as Chaos Labs, Zokyo, Halborn, PeckShield, and Sherlock. They also maintain a real-time security partnership with Hypernative to proactively detect exploits. The protocol focuses on Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) ecosystems to ensure low-cost transactions, currently supporting networks like Linea, zkSync, Manta Network, Blast, Arbitrum, and X Layer.
