The original DOV token represents the legacy version of the DOVU project. In September 2023, the project underwent a significant migration from its initial Ethereum and cross-chain roots to become a native token on the Hedera network. As a result, the old DOV token is no longer the active utility token within the ecosystem. The project transitioned to a new contract to better support its evolving carbon credit platform.
The migration was primarily handled via an airdrop based on a snapshot taken on September 11, 2023. Holders on EVM-compatible chains were generally eligible for an automatic airdrop of the new tokens. Users holding tokens on the Hedera network were required to associate the new token ID (0.0.3716059) in their supported digital wallets to receive the airdrop. Latecomers can still check their eligibility through the official migration portal provided by the project team.
The migration involved a 1:10 split ratio. For every 1 legacy DOV token held, users received 10 of the new DOVU tokens. This adjustment was implemented to expand the total supply to 10 billion tokens, providing the necessary scale to support micro-transactions and broader utility within the project’s carbon sequestration and offset ecosystem.
DOVU is a carbon offset and Real World Asset (RWA) tokenization platform. It enables landowners to tokenize environmental benefits, such as soil or forest carbon sequestration, and sell those digital credits to businesses looking to offset their carbon footprint. The project gained early recognition through investment from the venture capital arm of Jaguar Land Rover, emphasizing its focus on sustainability and institutional utility.
dovuOS is described by the team as an accessible interface for tokenizing assets on the Hedera network. It utilizes artificial intelligence and the Hedera Guardian framework to simplify the complex process of onboarding carbon credits. This system is designed to make it easier for users to verify and manage environmental assets within a decentralized framework.
To see the new tokens, users must add the New Token ID (0.0.3716059) to a supported Hedera-compatible wallet. The legacy Ethereum contract address was 0xac3211a5025414af2866ff09c23fc18bc97e79b1. For trading, the new DOVU token is available on LBank and other major trading platforms, as well as native decentralized exchanges on the Hedera network. Users are advised to double-check they are trading the active DOVU ticker rather than the deprecated legacy version.
