IRISnet, also known as IRIS Hub, is a service infrastructure and protocol built using Cosmos SDK and Tendermint. The IRIS token is the native utility and governance token of the IRISnet blockchain. IRISnet was developed by Bianjie Intelligent Technology Ltd. (Bianjie AI), a Shanghai-based company co-founded by Harriet Cao and Haifeng Xi in 2016. The Tendermint team, responsible for the Tendermint consensus engine and Cosmos, is also an integral part of the project's development, contributing significantly to its underlying technology.
IRISnet supports distributed business applications by integrating off-chain data and services with on-chain transactions. Its service infrastructure can be used for distributed data, AI, e-commerce, and combining consortium chains with public chains.
