In this model, NEST is burned to create these assets and generated during settlement, creating a supply loop driven by market demand.

Participants can earn rewards in two primary ways. First, through Quote Mining, which involves providing accurate price data to the oracle. Second, holders can stake NEST in the official portal to receive weekly distributions from protocol transaction fees. While most staking pools do not have strict minimum requirements, users should account for network gas fees. It is also important to note that unstaking may involve a cooldown period, and choosing a locked duration for higher yield multipliers will render funds illiquid until the term expires.

In 2026, the project expanded into "Real World Impact" through the NEST Foundation. A primary focus is the Pilot Housing Model, which aims to use the ecosystem to fund and govern housing assistance initiatives. Instead of launching a separate coin, the foundation is focusing on refining the utility of the NEST token for governance and participation within these housing projects. This shift marks an evolution from a pure DeFi oracle toward a broader model that incorporates social utility and real-world infrastructure applications.

Following past industry exploits like the Poly Network event, Nest Protocol implemented a major contract migration to protect the network and its users. For safe storage and management, users can add the token to popular non-custodial wallets using the verified contract address. The maximum supply of the token is capped at 10 billion NEST. Nest Protocol is distinguished by its "verified first, then used" philosophy, whereas other decentralized oracle networks often follow a "used first, then verified" model.
