Inspired by the 'cigarette' trait—the second most common in the original collection—the project introduces a social game where a unique 1/1 NFT represents the 'CEO of CryptoPunks.' While it draws inspiration from the iconic collection, it is not an official project of Larva Labs or Yuga Labs.
To claim the title of 'CEO of CryptoPunks,' any user can purchase the 1/1 'Title Belt' NFT using CIG tokens. The purchase price is set by the current CEO. When a new leader takes over, the CIG tokens used for the acquisition are permanently burned, creating a deflationary mechanic. This ensures the leadership role is dynamic and determined by the community's valuation of the title.
The CEO title operates under a Harberger Tax system to maintain active participation. The sitting CEO must pay a daily tax of 0.1% of their self-set valuation in CIG tokens. If the CEO fails to pay this tax, a 'whistleblower' can trigger a Dutch auction to remove them. This process rewards the whistleblower and ensures the title remains in the hands of those actively supporting the ecosystem.
The CEO holds significant influence over the project's parameters. They can adjust CIG emission and mining rewards by up to 20% every two days, directly impacting the tokenomics. Additionally, the CEO has the unique ability to leave a 32-character 'Graffiti' message on the official project website, providing a public platform to communicate with the entire community for the duration of their tenure.
The 'Cigarette Factory' is the project's liquidity mining program. Users can earn CIG rewards by providing liquidity to the CIG/ETH pair on supported platforms like LBank or decentralized exchanges and staking their liquidity provider (LP) tokens. While the initial supply was airdropped to original NFT holders, the ongoing issuance is managed by the current CEO, typically ranging between 0.0001 and 1,000 CIG per block.
To ensure the project remains decentralized and secure, the developer permanently locked a significant amount of liquidity in the primary trading pool and burned the admin keys. These actions make the project 'un-ruggable,' as no single entity can withdraw the liquidity or unilaterally alter the core smart contracts.
