Aave v3 KNC, or aKNC, is a wrapped version of the Kyber Network Crystal (KNC) token specifically designed for use within the Aave v3 decentralized lending protocol. It operates as a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency, allowing users to interact with Aave's services using their KNC holdings. Its core function is to facilitate lending and borrowing activities by leveraging the underlying KNC asset, enabling KNC to be used as collateral or for other supported actions within the protocol.

KNC serves as the governance and utility token for KyberSwap. When integrated into Aave V3, it allows KNC holders to utilize their tokens as collateral. This enables them to borrow other assets, such as stablecoins, without needing to sell their original KNC holdings. This integration enhances KNC's utility and provides greater flexibility for its holders, allowing them to participate more actively in decentralized finance activities while retaining their KNC exposure.

The primary benefit for KNC holders is the ability to unlock liquidity from their assets without divesting them. By using KNC as collateral on Aave, holders can borrow other cryptocurrencies for various decentralized finance activities, including exploring new investment opportunities, participating in liquidity pools, or engaging in strategies like margin trading. This mechanism provides KNC holders with increased financial flexibility and utility for their digital assets.

Users typically sell aKNC by first converting it to a stablecoin, such as USDT, on a spot market available through a crypto exchange. Once converted, the stablecoin can then be sold for traditional currency or used for other digital asset purchases. Common reasons for selling include managing a portfolio, rebalancing assets, or responding to personal financial needs or broader market sentiment changes.

To add aKNC to a crypto wallet such as MetaMask, first ensure your wallet is connected to the correct blockchain network where aKNC resides, for example, the Ethereum mainnet.
