InceptionLRT, the platform that managed the INEIGEN token, has ceased operations. This decision was announced due to a reported lack of "product market fit" and insufficient liquidity incentives, with operations concluding as of July 2025. Consequently, the INEIGEN token, which functioned as a liquid restaked representation, is now associated with an inactive platform. Former users were advised to retrieve their deposited assets promptly from InceptionLRT.

InceptionLRT confirmed that user funds remained safe and the withdrawal functionalities were fully operational during its operational cessation. The platform strongly recommended that all users retrieve their deposited assets without delay. Users should have followed the specific withdrawal procedures communicated by InceptionLRT during its shutdown phase to ensure their funds were successfully returned. It is crucial for any remaining holders to verify historical communications regarding fund retrieval processes.

Inception Restaked EIGEN (inEIGEN) was created as a liquid restaked token (LRT) for EIGEN, the native token within the EigenLayer ecosystem. Its primary goal was to enable users to engage in restaking their EIGEN assets to earn rewards, while simultaneously retaining liquidity. By holding inEIGEN, users were intended to be able to deploy their restaked capital across various decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, aiming for enhanced capital efficiency and additional earning opportunities, a key benefit of liquid restaking tokens.

EigenLayer is an Ethereum-based shared security protocol that facilitates "restaking." It allows users to re-purpose their already staked ETH or Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) to provide security for new decentralized applications, called Actively Validated Services (AVSs), in return for extra rewards. InceptionLRT sought to augment EigenLayer's utility by developing inEIGEN. This token represented restaked EIGEN within InceptionLRT's framework, acting as a liquid wrapper to simplify participation and offer flexibility for EigenLayer participants.

Restaking on EigenLayer carries risks such as slashing, where validators can incur penalties or lose assets for misbehavior or technical issues. A significant challenge is also the illiquidity of staked positions due to mandatory unbonding periods. InceptionLRT aimed to alleviate this illiquidity by issuing liquid receipt tokens like inEIGEN. These tokens would grant users access to their restaked capital without enduring lengthy unbonding waits, thereby allowing them to utilize their assets in other DeFi protocols while potentially still accruing restaking rewards.

Before InceptionLRT ceased operations, the liquidity available for Inception Restaked EIGEN (INEIGEN) was frequently a point of concern. Reports indicated that the total liquidity for the token was often low. This limited liquidity could result in significant price deviations from its intended value, making it difficult for users to efficiently acquire or divest their holdings without experiencing substantial slippage. This liquidity issue was identified as a contributing factor to the platform's closure, specifically citing insufficient liquidity incentives.
