Users can stake FRM through the Ferrum Stability Pool or specialized time-locked staking pools using compatible Web3 wallets. The Stability Pool offers variable rewards that can increase during periods of high market volatility, as stakers earn from protocol liquidations. While the Stability Pool generally allows for instant withdrawals, time-locked pools offer higher rewards in exchange for locking tokens for set periods, such as 30, 60, or 90 days.
Ferrum utilizes a mechanism called Value-Constrained Proof of Stake (VCPS), which requires validators to stake collateral to ensure honest behavior and protect against cross-chain attacks. Unlike traditional bridges that lock and mint assets, Ferrum uses decentralized proxy tokens for secure value movement. Notably, Ferrum supports non-EVM chains, allowing assets like Bitcoin to be brought into the DeFi ecosystems of EVM-compatible chains.
