0G, also known as Zero Gravity, is a modular Layer-1 blockchain infrastructure engineered to support decentralized artificial intelligence (AI) applications on-chain. It aims to overcome traditional blockchain limitations in handling AI's high computational and data demands. Positioned as a leading AI Layer 1, 0G offers a comprehensive full-stack infrastructure for building and scaling AI-native applications within a decentralized environment, integrating storage, compute, and data availability.

0G operates on a modular architecture, separating key functions like consensus, storage, and computation. Its core components include the 0G Chain, an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain optimized for AI with plans for high transaction speeds up to 100,000 per second. It also features 0G Compute, a decentralized marketplace providing accessible GPU computing power for AI tasks. Additionally, 0G Storage offers a decentralized network for managing vast AI datasets, complemented by 0G Data Availability (DA) for efficient data accessibility and verifiability through randomly selected DA Nodes.

The 0G token serves as the native cryptocurrency, providing multiple critical functions. It is used to pay for gas fees on the 0G Chain, including AI data processing. Node operators (alignment, validator, and storage nodes) are rewarded with 0G tokens for their contributions to network support. The token can also be staked to validators, enhancing network security and incentivizing transaction verification and AI model monitoring. Furthermore, 0G enables governance, allowing holders to propose and vote on protocol changes, and facilitates payment for on-chain AI computations, data availability, storage, and decentralized serving layers.

The 0G token has a total supply capped at 1 billion, though it's designed with an infinite maximum supply characteristic. The token allocation strategy significantly prioritizes community and ecosystem growth, dedicating 56% of the supply to these areas, with an additional 15% specifically reserved for AI Alignment Node holders. Vesting schedules are established for team and backer allocations, featuring a 12-month lock-up period following the Token Generation Event (TGE), with subsequent vesting over 36 months to ensure long-term commitment.

The 0G token officially commenced public trading on September 22, 2025. This significant event coincided with the launch of the project's Aristotle Mainnet, marking a major milestone in the development and accessibility of the 0G ecosystem.
