The IRIS token serves as the native utility and governance asset of the network. Its primary functions include staking for network security, payment of transaction fees, and acting as the settlement currency for service fees charged by providers within the ecosystem. By holding and staking the token, users gain voting power to participate in the decentralized decision-making process. IRISnet also features an enterprise-focused branch called IRITA, which is designed for businesses requiring flexible digital asset modeling and privacy-centric data authorization.
