$SMOL serves as the community-driven memecoin for the Smol Brains NFT collection. While the collection began as a free-mint project, $SMOL was launched later as a fair-launch token for the community. Smolverse is a fun-focused metaverse built on high-performance blockchain technology. It encompasses various NFT collections including Smol Brains, Smol Bodies, Smol Pets, and Smol Cars. The ecosystem focuses on community engagement, interactive evolution mechanics, and agentic gaming where characters grow and participate in an evolving narrative centered around the growth of the community.

$SMOL has evolved from a simple memecoin into a functional utility token for the Smolworld AI Launchpad. It is required to create new AI game agents and provides spending allowances to autonomous AI Smols. Additionally, the token is used to upgrade various features within the virtual world, facilitating an interactive economy between players and their digital assets.

The project features a unique staking mechanic where holders place their NFTs in the School on the project's official platform. This process generates IQ points. For every 50 IQ points earned, the NFT’s metadata updates, physically increasing the brain size of the character. The maximum evolution is reached at 300 IQ, at which point the character is considered fully evolved.

AI Smols are the next evolution of the project, where NFTs act as autonomous AI agents powered by the ElizaOS framework. These agents are capable of thinking and acting independently within the ecosystem. In agentic gaming environments, these AI Smols can participate in gameplay autonomously, engaging in activities and earning rewards without the need for constant manual input from the human owner.
