Chikn Feed (FEED) is a token that forms a part of the broader Chikn ecosystem, a Web3 project built on the Avalanche blockchain. Initially, players could earn FEED by single-sided staking EGG tokens through their "Roost" or by staking Chikn ecosystem liquidity provider (LP) tokens in LP Farms. However, the distribution of FEED rewards through these staking mechanisms concluded on December 9, 2022, as FEED has a fixed and finite supply. Currently, the only way to obtain FEED is by acquiring it from exchanges. The consumption of FEED by Chikn NFTs in the game reduces its circulating supply. The project also holds a reserve of FEED tokens for the Chikn DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization), with their eventual release to be determined by the DAO. Beyond increasing Chikn size, FEED can also be utilized to bypass certain cooldown periods, known as "GrowingPainz," associated with "Roostr" NFTs, another type of asset in the ecosystem. The Chikn ecosystem features various games, including idle gameplay elements like Roosting, Farming, and Foraging, and plans for future active gameplay titles. $FEED has a fixed maximum supply of 12 billion tokens. There was no presale or airdrop; it launched in December 2021. The initial total supply was calculated to allow all 10,000 Chikn NFTs to reach a certain size, although this is not a hard cap. Approximately 800 million $FEED was allocated to the Chikn DAO and a small amount for initial liquidity. Most of the allocated $FEED has been released into circulation via past staking rewards, making it a finite resource.
