Soneium

Soneium is an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain network founded by the Japanese electronics giant Sony Global Corporation and Startale, the company behind the Astar Network. It is designed to connect blockchain technology with Sony's Web2 services, including Sony Bank, Sony Music, Sony Pictures, and more, to onboard a new audience to blockchain technology.

On June 28, 2023, Sony Global Corporation over $3.5M in a new business collaboration with Startale Labs to 'build a foundation for the widespread adoption of Web3.' However, it is still unknown whether the invested funds have been or will be used in developing the Soneium network.
