wPOKT holders generally do not need to take manual action during the transition from the Morse (v0) to the Shannon (v1) mainnet. Since wPOKT represents a claim on native POKT, the underlying asset will transition as part of the bridge's backend updates. If you bridge your tokens back to the native chain after the upgrade is finalized, the bridge will return the new Shannon POKT instead of the legacy version. Your ERC-20 tokens remain secure in your wallet throughout this process.

Bridge transactions typically appear stuck if the decentralized multi-sig process is interrupted, often caused by closing a browser window or blocking pop-ups before the minting phase is complete. To fix this, users should use the official Bridge Monitor tool. This utility allows you to track the progress of your transaction and resume any incomplete steps, ensuring your tokens are successfully minted or released without having to restart the entire process.

While users often expect instant transfers, the wPOKT bridge requires a decentralized set of validators to verify and sign off on the transaction to maintain 1:1 backing. This verification process generally takes between 15 and 60 minutes. The exact duration depends on the current network congestion of both the native Pocket Network and the destination Ethereum or Layer 2 networks.

If you have completed a bridge transaction but the tokens are not visible, you likely need to manually import the wPOKT contract address into your wallet. Use the 'Add Custom Token' feature and paste the official Ethereum contract address: 0xaaaf91fe01890706913636537129528659187385. Once imported, your balance will reflect correctly. Always verify the contract address through official documentation or block explorers to ensure security.

Native POKT is used within the ecosystem to run nodes, secure the network, and earn rewards through technical participation. In contrast, wPOKT is designed for decentralized finance (DeFi), allowing users to provide liquidity or engage in 'Data Farming.' While node running requires a minimum stake and technical knowledge, Data Farming is a simpler staking process. To use wPOKT for node operations, it must first be unwrapped back into native POKT.

Native POKT is available on centralized exchanges such as LBank, while wPOKT is primarily traded on decentralized platforms. To mitigate high Ethereum gas fees, the project has expanded liquidity to Layer 2 solutions like Base, offering a more cost-effective trading environment. Users should be careful not to send wPOKT directly to a centralized exchange unless that platform specifically supports the ERC-20 version; otherwise, you must unwrap it to native POKT first.
