World Mobile Token (WMTX) is the utility token that powers the World Mobile network. This network operates as a decentralized mobile infrastructure within the Decentralized Physical Infrastructure (DePIN) sector. Its primary mission is to bridge the global digital divide by providing internet access to those currently unconnected, utilizing blockchain technology and a sharing economy model to achieve this widespread connectivity.

World Mobile Token is designed to tackle the significant challenge of the global digital divide. It strives to bring internet access, robust data protection, and new avenues for economic participation to billions of individuals worldwide who currently lack reliable connectivity. By addressing these fundamental needs, the project aims to empower underserved communities and foster greater inclusion in the digital age.

The World Mobile network operates as a decentralized system that incentivizes and rewards its participants. Users and node operators are central to its functioning; individuals can earn rewards by becoming an AirNode operator, contributing telecommunication services, or by staking tokens to secure the network. The infrastructure leverages renewable solar-powered energy and unlicensed spectrum to extend its reach, creating an inclusive and sustainable connectivity solution.

The WMT/WMTx token serves multiple crucial utility functions within the World Mobile ecosystem. It is primarily used for staking, allowing token holders to participate in network security and governance. The token also acts as the primary mechanism for rewarding network participants, including node operators and active users, for their contributions. Furthermore, WMT/WMTx fuels the on-chain economies that develop on the network and is used to pay for various services offered within the World Mobile infrastructure.

Initially, World Mobile Token was developed on the Cardano blockchain. However, a significant migration is currently in progress to expand its presence across multiple leading blockchains, including Base, Ethereum, and BNB Chain. As part of this transition, the token's ticker is changing from WMT to WMTX. This migration aims to enhance accessibility and interoperability, with an initial 1:1 conversion rate offered for existing WMT holders transitioning to the new WMTX standard.

World Mobile prioritizes user privacy by not profiting from personal data, ensuring it remains for the user's sole benefit and is secured by smart contracts. For staking security, users are advised to be vigilant against decentralized applications requesting excessive permissions. It is crucial to always use official staking interfaces and never directly send tokens to a contract address, as this risks permanent fund loss. The World Mobile team will never solicit private keys or seed phrases.
