(VITARNA)

VitaRNA is a Decentralized Science (DeSci) project focused on developing gene therapies for diseases caused by nonsense mutations. It is a tokenized version of an Intellectual Property NFT (IP-NFT). The ecosystem involves Artan Bio, the biotech company conducting laboratory research; VitaDAO, the decentralized organization that incubated and funded the project; and VitaRNA, the token used to govern the research on-chain. This structure allows the community to hold governance rights over the intellectual property generated by the research.

Decentralized Science, or DeSci, is a movement that applies Web3 tools like DAOs and NFTs to the scientific research process. By using blockchain, DeSci allows projects like VitaRNA to fund and manage biotechnology research outside traditional academic or pharmaceutical silos. This framework enables transparent governance, community-led funding, and the fractionalization of intellectual property, allowing a global network of contributors to support and oversee the development of life-saving gene therapies.

The VITARNA token is primarily used for governance within the project's ecosystem. Holders have the power to vote on R&D priorities, research milestones, the allocation of future funding, and decisions regarding the licensing and commercialization of the resulting intellectual property. The total and maximum supply is strictly capped at 5,000,000 tokens. To ensure long-term stability and commitment, researchers and team members are subject to a four-year vesting schedule.

By mid-2025, the project achieved a significant milestone with its lead candidate, ARTAN-102. In mouse models, the therapy demonstrated successful delivery to multiple organs, including the brain, without showing any adverse effects. Furthermore, the project has filed multiple provisional patent applications for its engineered tRNA suppressor system. These patents are held within the IP-NFT governed by VITARNA token holders as the project prepares for non-human primate studies and eventual human clinical trials.

VITARNA is available for trading on major cryptocurrency exchanges, including LBank. It is commonly paired with assets such as ETH or VITA. For project updates, the team provides comprehensive "Science Updates" through the VitaDAO governance forum and active community channels like Telegram. These platforms allow participants to monitor research breakthroughs, patent filings, and the transition toward pharmaceutical-grade manufacturing milestones.

As a project at the intersection of biotech and blockchain, VitaRNA faces unique risks. Early-stage biotechnology research is inherently speculative; successful results in animal trials do not guarantee success in human clinical trials. There is also regulatory uncertainty regarding the classification of Intellectual Property Tokens (IPTs) in different regions. Additionally, as a specialized DeSci asset, liquidity may be lower compared to mainstream tokens, and the project relies on specific contract permissions to manage intellectual property governance.
