Rodeo Finance (RDO) is a decentralized finance, or DeFi, protocol operating on the Arbitrum network. Its primary purpose is to allow its community members to earn yield through various managed and passive investment strategies. The project aims to become a central hub on Arbitrum for maximizing yield by making DeFi more accessible and user-friendly. A core feature of Rodeo Finance is its utilization of undercollateralized leverage. This mechanism allows users to amplify their investment positions in various vaults and strategies, potentially leading to higher returns. Participants can borrow up to ten times their initial investment to engage in real yield farming strategies. The protocol supports both passive liquidity providers, who lend single assets, and leverage farmers, who borrow these assets for yield generation. Rodeo Finance also functions as an auto-compounding yield farm, where rewards from vaults are automatically converted back into the base asset and re-staked. Its central product, Rodeo Corral, focuses on leveraged yield farming, integrating strategies from a variety of protocols within the Arbitrum ecosystem. Lending pools are essential to the platform, enabling users to stake their tokens, which are then used by others for leverage, with lenders earning fees in return. The RDO token is the native cryptocurrency of the Rodeo Finance platform. It can be held, traded, or used for passive income strategies such as staking, lending, or yield farming. Rodeo Finance was founded in 2022. However, the project experienced a security incident on July 11, 2023, when approximately 472 ETH were stolen from the Arbitrum chain due to a price oracle manipulation vulnerability, specifically a faulty implementation of the Time-Weighted Average Price (TWAP) Oracle.
