Following the transition in late 2025, holders of the original $PLS and $bPLS can migrate to the updated tokenomics model. $PLUTUS serves as the liquid market token, while $xPLUTUS is the staked version used for governance and earning protocol fees. The migration process was designed to carry over loyalty multipliers from the old system to the new $xPLUTUS structure, ensuring long-term supporters maintain their status within the updated ecosystem.

PlutusDAO’s liquid wrappers, such as plsARB, represent governance tokens that are often permanently locked to maximize voting power. Because these assets are focused on governance aggregation, they may trade at a discount compared to the underlying asset on decentralized exchanges. To address this, the protocol utilizes a soft floor policy for overcollateralized wrappers to support long-term value and provides liquidity through various decentralized platforms rather than direct 1:1 redemptions.

PlutusDAO offers two distinct product lines: plsAssets and plvAssets. plsAssets (such as plsGRAIL or plsRDNT) function as passive liquid wrappers that allow users to retain liquidity while the protocol aggregates governance power. In contrast, plvAssets are active, automated yield strategies. These vaults manage underlying positions to optimize returns and automate yield farming processes, offering a more hands-on management style for the user's deposited capital compared to the passive wrapper model.

To maximize rewards, users typically stake $xPLUTUS and utilize multiplier points earned through consistent participation. The protocol often employs 16-week locking cycles to distribute the highest tiers of incentives. Rewards are diverse, consisting of $PLUTUS emissions, protocol fees often distributed in ETH, and governance bribes from partner protocols. This multi-stream reward system is designed to incentivize long-term locking and active governance participation.

PlutusDAO acts as a "governance black hole" by accumulating and locking significant amounts of governance tokens from various projects. Through the Arbitrum DAO Consortium, the protocol aggregates this power to influence major ecosystem decisions. Holders of $xPLUTUS can direct this consolidated voting power, allowing them to have a disproportionately large impact on Arbitrum governance and the direction of partner protocols compared to individual voting.

The protocol has significantly expanded its footprint through the acquisition of Orange Finance and a strategic move into the Berachain ecosystem. The Orange Finance integration introduced advanced liquidity vaults to the $xPLUTUS reward structure. Furthermore, the launch of new liquid wrappers like plsBERA and plsHONEY demonstrates the DAO's commitment to cross-chain governance expansion, allowing the protocol to export its liquid-wrapping model to emerging high-growth networks.
