An example of such a synthetic asset is xETH, which is designed to be pegged to the price of ETH on the Base Mainnet. xETH operates as a fractional-algorithmic synthetic token, aiming to maintain a 1:1 peg with the dollar value of a single ETH. When xETH is minted, the protocol acquires PARTICLE tokens from the market and creates PARTICLE/ETH liquidity provider (LP) tokens. Conversely, redeeming xETH provides users with both ETH and PARTICLE tokens. The amount of PARTICLE tokens involved in these transactions is influenced by a collateral ratio, which varies between 70% and 90% based on the xETH peg.
