Under this framework, the native HERMES token is used to incentivize liquidity providers and involve the community in governance. By staking their tokens, participants can receive a vote-escrowed version that grants them the ability to vote on how future token emissions are distributed across various liquidity pools. This creates a decentralized decision-making process where stakeholders are motivated to direct incentives toward the most productive or useful pools within the ecosystem. A significant evolution of the project is the introduction of its second version, which focuses on omnichain capabilities. This upgrade aims to solve the problem of fragmented liquidity by allowing users to manage assets and provide liquidity across multiple different blockchains without the need for traditional bridges. This version also incorporates concentrated liquidity features to improve capital efficiency and allow liquidity providers to target specific price ranges for their assets. In addition to its core trading functions, the project is closely integrated with the Maia DAO ecosystem, which serves as a community-driven organization for managing various decentralized finance products. Through these partnerships, the project seeks to provide a comprehensive suite of financial tools, including yield management and automated liquidity strategies. The name Hermes is also associated with a few other distinct Web3 initiatives that should be distinguished from the main liquidity protocol. These include a communication and notification protocol on the Radix network designed to provide real-time on-chain alerts to users, and a more recent artificial intelligence agent project powered by the Bittensor network that focuses on analyzing data for commodity insights.
