Ternoa is a decentralized Layer 1 blockchain built on the Substrate framework, specifically designed for the secure storage and transmission of digital data over long periods. Its core product is the "Time Capsule," which is a specialized NFT acting as an encrypted envelope. These capsules contain data such as legal documents, passwords, or memories, and are programmed to decrypt only when specific conditions are met—such as a specific date, a period of inactivity, or a verified event—ensuring data reaches beneficiaries without the need for intermediaries.

Ternoa ensures high-level security using a decentralized "Trusted Execution Environment" (TEE) network called "Ternoa Fortress." This system utilizes Intel SGX enclaves to manage encryption keys for "Secret NFTs," preventing even validators from viewing content before the trigger conditions are satisfied. Additionally, the project has expanded with a zkEVM Layer 2 built with Polygon CDK, bringing Ethereum compatibility and Solidity smart contracts to the ecosystem while maintaining privacy through zero-knowledge technology.

Ternoa does not store large files directly on its own blockchain. Instead, it acts as an orchestrator for decentralized storage. When a Time Capsule is created, the encrypted data is segmented and distributed across multiple decentralized storage providers like Arweave, Storj, and Sia. The Ternoa blockchain manages the access rights and the protocols that determine when and to whom the data is released, ensuring a robust and distributed storage solution.

Ternoa features five specialized protocols to manage data delivery: 1. Safe Protocol (standard storage and retrieval); 2. D-Day Protocol (delivery on a specific calendar date); 3. Consent Protocol (beneficiaries request access, and the owner has a veto period to deny it); 4. Death Protocol (triggered by lack of activity or official registries); and 5. Countdown Protocol (set to open after a specific duration). these protocols allow users to customize exactly how their digital legacy is passed on.

The CAPS token is the native currency of the Ternoa ecosystem with a total supply capped at 2.5 billion. It serves several critical functions: paying for transaction fees (gas), minting NFTs and Time Capsules, and covering long-term storage costs. CAPS is also used for network governance and staking via a Nominated Proof-of-Stake (NPoS) mechanism, where holders can nominate validators to secure the chain and earn rewards. To manage the supply, the protocol also incorporates a periodic token burn mechanism.

CAPS can be traded on major global exchanges, including LBank. The project supports broad interoperability through an official bridge, allowing users to swap CAPS between the Ternoa Native Chain, Ethereum (ERC-20), and Binance Smart Chain (BEP-20). While it operates as a standalone Layer 1, its Substrate-based architecture facilitates future interoperability within the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems, making it a versatile asset for users across different blockchain environments.
