Avalon Labs (AVL) is a Web3 project building an on-chain financial center for Bitcoin, with the goal of transforming Bitcoin into an active economic asset. The project aims to provide a scalable, transparent, and accessible financial network that connects Bitcoin with traditional financial systems. A core offering of Avalon Labs is its Bitcoin-backed stablecoin called USDa. This stablecoin allows users to mint USDa by providing Bitcoin-based collateral, and its value is indirectly pegged to the U.S. dollar through a fixed-rate USDT conversion mechanism. The platform also provides lending services, enabling users to borrow stablecoins by using Bitcoin or Bitcoin-related assets as collateral. These lending opportunities include both CeDeFi (Centralized-Decentralized Finance) and DeFi options. Additionally, Avalon Labs offers yield-generating accounts, where deposited Bitcoin-pegged assets can earn yield. The project has secured access to stablecoin funds from centralized finance institutions, helping to bridge traditional and crypto finance. Avalon Labs operates across multiple blockchain platforms, including Merlin Chain, Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Bitlayer, with intentions to expand further. The project has implemented risk mitigation strategies such as overcollateralization for loans, rigorous liquidation procedures, security audits, and AI-driven on-chain monitoring. The native token of the ecosystem is AVL, which is designed for community governance. Holders of AVL can stake their tokens to receive sAVL, granting them voting power to influence platform decisions and its future direction. Beyond governance, AVL token ownership also provides access to exclusive features, perks, and fee rebates within the Avalon ecosystem. A significant portion of AVL tokens, 90%, is distributed to the community. Avalon Labs conducted its seed round fundraising in March 2024 and launched its USDa stablecoin in November 2024. The native AVL token was planned for introduction in the first quarter of 2025. The project has also established partnerships with other platforms, such as BNB Chain and ZetaChain, and has launched Universal Lending on ZetaChain, facilitating cross-chain lending and borrowing including native Bitcoin.
