It represents the user's supplied sUSD and continuously accrues interest directly in their wallet based on market borrowing demand. ASUSD can be freely held, transferred, and traded, functioning as a yield-generating receipt for sUSD deposits. It is burned when the underlying sUSD is redeemed from the protocol.
A significant risk for ASUSD stems from the underlying sUSD's historical price fluctuations and depegging events, where it has deviated from its intended $1 peg. This instability is often linked to concerns about sUSD's liquidity on decentralized exchanges, making it challenging to maintain its value during market stress. Such depegging issues can impact the value of ASUSD holdings and the overall protocol's exposure.
ASUSD generates yield by representing sUSD supplied to the Aave V3 protocol. When sUSD is deposited, ASUSD is minted, and it automatically accrues interest in real-time.
