Scientia (SCIE) is a crypto project that aimed to bridge science funding, venture capital, and blockchain technology. The primary goal of Scientia was to establish a trust owned by its community to support basic research in academia and new research-oriented companies. This trust intended to participate in funded research through returns from successful projects. The SCIENTIA Token was launched in October 2021 on the Binance Smart Chain and became available on secondary markets, such as PancakeSwap, in November 2021. Initially, SCIE operated as an elastic supply token with rebase cycles. However, the community decided to stop the elastic supply feature and associated rebases in February 2022. To support its objectives, a transaction tax of 9.42% was applied to all SCIE transactions. This tax was allocated for several purposes: 3.14% went directly to the liquidity pool, 2.09% was designated for science funding, 2.09% for buybacks, and the remaining 2.09% for development and marketing. An important update on the project indicates that active development of Scientia has ceased. Following a community vote, a comprehensive distribution and reimbursement plan was put in place. After the distribution phase, ownership of the SCIENTIA Token smart contract will be renounced, and the token will continue to exist on the blockchain as an autonomous smart contract. It is stated that Scientia tokens are not investment products and do not confer any ownership rights or rights to any return.
